Tales from the Crypt. True Stories of Our Dead Schools.





They might as well have been talking about COMMON CORE. It is OBE (Alabama First/Kentucky Education Reform Act/ Outcomes Based Education/Goals 2000 whatever you want to call it), then in the early 2000s the YES WE CAN Movement got mobilized to process the public into accepting COMMON CORE EBOLA the most virulent "school/national" reform (and I say the word tongue in cheek) ever.

Just read what these folks saw happening in their schools in the early 90s.

The Kentucky Education Reform Act was one of many of those "grassroots" reform acts written by Marc Tucker and David Hornbeck in the early 90s. This was the National Center for Education and the Economy setting us for a revolution in education that coincided with the political Progressive Whole Language radical agenda. The public was just a bunch of sitting ducks processed through the Delphi Technique along with the Chamber of Commerce allied with the Education Establishment to revolutionize education. (They call it education, I call it social engineering.)

It failed in every aspect that parents expected of schools and created even more illiteracy. More violence in the schools. More learning disabled. But, the stories that came out of Kentucky could have been from every state.

You will relate to this. Because with COMMON CORE a national curriculum promoted with the YES WE CAN signs throughout communities, processed with the Delphi techniques and the local Chambers of Commerce your school systems sold this to you as a new and improved "innovation" to make schools "college and career ready." All lies. This newest version (Common Core) was created with a Chicago cabal dead set on putting the icing on the cake of their Radical Agenda. Now no part of our country is untainted because the virulence is nation wide with a national curriculum. Call it what you will. They only change the names to confuse the public.



2nd grader bought home book about a vacuum aspiration abortion. Moral? she was glad to be free of the baby.


Reminds me of Lois Lowry's The Giver. Did you ever read that? You should. Your children have probably been required to do so. They will tell you it is a Newberry Award winning book. And I will tell you that some of the imagery in that book is not for elementary students. Teachers love it for the discussions -- way beyond the depth for elementary children. The therapeutic classroom once again at work. I can only wonder at the impact on individual children with teachers practicing psychotherapy.

(And we wonder why there are so many more children and adolescents committing suicide.)

Intrusive questions about the children's families, homes, income, amount of books in the home. This test was an invasive social survey masquerading as a test!  It is happening here as well. I have reports from Dothan and Panama City about intrusive social surveys -- and questions about guns. 










 Will Stay on Your Record Forever

My son was "evaluated" by the state this year. The high school seniors were required to take special "tests". The all important will stay on your record forever assessment task my son was given was to evaluate a 10 minute ballet video. This might have been a valid classroom activity for fostering creative dance interpretation, but what did it have to do with what he has learned these past four year? He has made excellent grads and has had several fine teachers, but none in ballet. this type of evaluation has cost us, the taxpayers, millions of collars for such nonsense.

I expect my son to be prepared for ACT and SAT college exams. I expect him to be prepared with facts and real skills. I am not seeing the type of preparation through this reform act. It is educationally unsound.



Too much value is being placed on opinion and viewpoint and if the "evaluator" doesn't agree with the opinion or manner in which it is expressed, the student receives a lower grade. A student who is more "adaptable and flexible" (a learning goal of the program) is given a higher score. Many of the questions and the "appropriate answers" are intrusive and objectionable to many teachers and parents across the state. Some of the questions include opinions about "alternative perspectives" and even life itself. A fourth-grade class was assessed not their answers to the question, "Is suicide ever justified?"





 At an elementary school in Louisville, I observed a library committee that traveled all over the system taking books out that would be sold at a book sale. When I asked how they decided which ones they should remove, I was told that one of the criteria was the picture. If a book had a picture of a family with a Mom, Dad and child, t was removed so that the child who did not have two parents would not feel bad if he/she read the book. 





PAY ATTENTION FOLKS. THIS IS IN STONE IN COMMON CORE.








Whole Education --- must aim primarily not at the stuffing knowledge but at building (youth) who are physically (and mentally healthy to the core." ... (It) stresses the importance of training youth in Community or National Service. Each child will have a Performance Record in which will be recorded his/her ____including his/her ideological (social, political, economic, growth ... in training for life and work.


REMIND YOU OF ALL THOSE SERVICE PROJECTS EVERY SCHOOL IN BAY DISTRICT SCHOOLS REQUIRES STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN?  




One has only to remember the Hitler Youth Groups to feel qualms about government control of values in education. When a computer becomes the teacher rather than a tool, society needs to take another look at its use in education. With computers as teachers, whoever is in charge, whether he be a Gandhi or Hitler, will have control of the generations of tomorrow by controlling our children's attitudes and beliefs.
