At Dothan Preparatory's "Media Center" https://www.dothan.k12.al.us/domain/2074  You find that the purpose is multiculturalism, dividing our students into tribes, rather than bringing Americans, new and old, together in the melting pot that once was America. In other words the cultural literacy that once united us has been swapped for an emphasis on cultural diversity and all that is perceived as negative about our country.

For example through the Diverse Books Toolkit

As you infuse diverse, inclusive, and culturally relevant materials into fiction and nonfiction reading experiences, this toolkit helps analyze collections, identify and bring to life diverse texts, and encourage reflection on cultural representation. see more

There is no filter for parental or community values.

Scroll through Award Winning Books and you find the Rainbow List.

Your child has access to books you would never have dreamed of reading or using as a teaching tool. Or letting your innocent child touch with a ten foot pole. Yet, the concept of "critical pedagogy" empowers your teachers to use books for classroom discussions you would never have thought of in a classroom. Or in your home. Yet through the computers provided by the school, your child has access to materials not reviewed by community committees to reflect community values. By the way, there's lots more than ten books there.
